About W-I-N / How to use
The World Innovation Network (W-I-N) is a web environment where organisations and professional individuals can showcase and access ‘innovative content’. – text and video information about innovative technologies, products and services.
It is free to post content to W-I-N, and it is free to search this content at summary level.
From corporates, universities and research organisations developing intellectual property opportunities, entrepreneurs, incubators, SMEs and the venture capital industry, to service providers as well as Government agencies; the information, opportunities, and the community networking possibilities are limitless.
The Innovation Platform and The I-P Engine within W-I-N showcase content pertaining to corporate and private innovation, venturing, investment and IP resources. i2i is a commercial business social network that allows users to access and act upon this content.
W-I-N is ‘non prescriptive’ in that users decide how to use the resources available on the platform.
Innovation:
- The act of innovating - the introduction of new things or methods;

Search (link to Search area of the Innovation Platform) by sector, type and size of organisation, geography and keywords for innovative technologies, products and services of interest.
Upload text and video to showcase your innovative technologies, products and services.
The IP (Intellectual Property) Engine comprises:-
Academic IP - the International University Innovation Hub - an international directory of Universities, as well as other academic research organisations.
Private IP - for private research organisations, inventors and other pre venture IP owners. The Private IP space includes the IP Basin for patent information.
IP Services - IP consultants, IP lawyers and other service providers.
Importantly, the interaction between the Innovation Platform and The IP Engine benefits corporates, academia and other IP sources with easily accessible, comprehensive and relevant information and collaboration opportunities.
How to use the IP Engine
Search within the International University Innovation Hub for content about the IP available from academia internationally. Search within the Private IP (link) space, including the IP Basin for privately owned, pre commercial sources of IP.
Upload text and video to showcase your IP within the International University Innovation Hub and Private IP areas of the IP Engine.
About the i2i Network / How to use
All subscribing users can utilise the wide range of tools available on i2i, W-I-N’s networking platform.
The following functionality is available:-
Networking:
Groups:
You can form groups to assemble task specific contacts.
Contacts: Address book to build your network of contacts from within W-I-N and by inviting new users.
Content: In conjunction with Bookmarks, here you can record an index of content from W-I-N for discussion with Groups and Contacts.
Mail: I2i-Mail is a simple and fast messaging tool for W-I-N specific activity that can be used in conjunction with your preferred email service.
Diary: Record dates for discussions, presentations, webinars and other important events within your diary.
Biography: Detail as much or as little as you wish for informing other users about yourself and your organisation’s products and services. You can include your CV / resume, pictures and video.
Blogs: My Blogs & Other Blogs - blog with other users to enhance your networking experience.
Bookmarks: Allows the bookmarking of Content
Webinars: In conjunction with your Diary and Content, note up-and-coming webinars in which you may wish to participate and deliver.
The Innovation Portal: The Innovation Portal is a content access window for the information available on W-I-N. Draw in video and text from all areas of W-I-N from wherever you may be within the environment for reference and use with your contacts and groups.
Video networking: i2i includes videoconferencing for one to one use and for group meetings and webinars.
Networking Tools: i2i presents an evolving list of relevant networking tools from outside of the network which may be of use or interest to users.
Network Maps: Visually identify where to find contacts in your network.
